Abstract

Direct method is a method of teaching a foreign language, especially a modern language through conversation, discussion and reading in the language itself without the use of the pupils language, without translation, and without the study of formal grammar. This method is appropriate to be implemented in speaking. Therefore, it is important to do research entitled “The Effect of Using Direct Practice with the Native Speakers”.

The objective of the research was to get empirical evidence about the effect of direct practice with native speakers. This research used quantitative method. The object of this research is the student at LKP Aloha Edu Tegaldlimo. With the total 15 students from each class. The researcher select students in their superior class and see the comparison between classroom and direct practice with the native speakers.

The data were collected trough the achievement of pre-test and post test from this class. The result showed that teaching speaking skill by using direct practice with the native speakers more effective than learning in the classroom. Direct practice with the native speakers had served a positive influence. So, it can be conducted that direct practice with the native speakers at G-Land has positive effect to students in superior class
