A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF DIFFICULTIES IN READING COMPREHENSION OF THE ELEVENTH GRADE OF SOCIAL 2 STUDENTS OF SMA DARUSSALAM BLOKAGUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021

Learning is the process of behavioral changing that is relatively constant by exercise of experience. So that is why, the English Language teacher learning process of the senior high school (SMA) is called success if there is changed behavior. Then the forth skill Which are the target; the skill of reading is on the first priority. A study for investigation what the difficulties on reading comprehension of the eleventh students of SMA Darussalam in the academic year 2021/2022, it is necessary conducted in order to answer the problem raised. This research is especially in SMA Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi hoped to be useful for SMA Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi for giving the direction about the aspect should be emphasized in teaching English language especially reading comprehension; and for collage for conducting more throught research about the difficulties on reading comprehension. This research was conducted from July 27th to 30th 2021. It was begun by reviewing the literature in order to get the directions about the aspect of reading comprehension. The data were got from the total eleventh year students of SMA Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi (population research) then the 15 students as the respondents by using test, completed by the methods of documentation. The difficulty on finding the main idea of the paragraph exceeds 10,66% comparing with the difficulty on understanding sentences meaning. The suggestion given from difficulties reading comprehension, the school should served more completed equipment's support teachers applying their strategies teaching learning process.
